Today we have a "grande festa"! The opening of the new Surfivor Surf house. As i am writing this, DJ Druskills is showing his skills and gets the groove on!

2010 Dream Tour - Tiago Pires out in 3rd round!

Hi everybody!

Long time no posting. This means we've been busy at the new house and haven't found much time between coming home and falling asleep on the couch to do some blogging!

Well, this time I just want to share about the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast, which is happening at the moment at Snapper's Rock! This is the first event of the year which brings a new format and new rules for the elite surfers, making it more tight to stay in the event!

I would like to focus, of course, on our portuguese surfer Tiago Pires, who is in great shape but unfortunately got eliminated today, in the 3rd round of the event against Jordy Smith! Tiago seemed a little unstable in the on-shore conditions today, which came in favour of a consistent and stylish Jordy Smith from South Africa!

Nevertheless, our Tiago Pires is still very motivated and enthusiastic about staying on the tour and getting his scores. This doesn't keep him from paying attention to what's happenning in the world. The late tragic storms on Madeira Island resulted in dozens of deaths and many lost people, not to mention the huge damages caused by this natural disaster. Beeing on tour and not able to help out personally, Tiago, who is a regular visitor to Madeira, decided to donate his Prize Money to the sufferers of the disaster. For us this is an example and we've already followed the step of Tiago, by donating some money for the people of Madeira who really need help now.

...And another bathroom... and painting...and cleaning..

Okeeeee...we admit it, maybe we thought this is gonna be easy.
The work is getting harder and time is getting short...

But we will make it!

A lot of work...

Renovating a house takes time and a lot of hard work.

This week we already made a lot of progress. We knocked down the kitchen and the bathroom, started painting the ceilings and choosing the colors of the interior of the house (which we are not going to tell you...yet).

The New SURFivor House

Hey everybody,

it's oficial: WE HAVE A NEW SURF HOUSE!!! Already popped the champagne and celebrated!

Now it's gonna be 10 frickin' weeks of renotvating and "pimping" and we're ready for a new SUFRIVOR era!

We don't have many pics yet, as the place looks like a mess, but we'll keep you posted on our progress!

Season starts 11.04.10 and to celebrate the new Surf House, we will have a promotion going on during April + May, under the name "All together now", which offers the accommodation for repeating guests and 50% off on accommodation for all new guests. GOOD STUFF!

Goodbye Alex!

Sometimes life catches us on surprise!
Sometimes it is not just good news!
This time our dear friend left to another place!

Here is to say goodbye to our friend Alexandre.
Sadly he passed away today!

Alex (from KOALA Surf Shop) left us and we will always remember him as a companion, partner and most of all... a good friend!

The reason I share this with you here on the Surfivor Blog is that, unfortunately, it is often in moments like this that we appreciate the real value of life and I want to tell you:

Enjoy every moment, love everybody and help. Help the ones who need help!
It's so easy!
No need to mention the bad things we do, let's be good!

Alex loved surfing and the Ocean loved him!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hi,

we want to thank you for coming to Surfivor Camp. Last season 2009 was great. We worked hard to make everything as nice as possible for all our guests to enjoy their surfing holiday!
I want to say a special "thank you" to my team:
Soraya, Peter, Eduardo, Kaisa, Essi, Steffi, Peter Jr., Matt, Kamilla, Kaçper, Dª Antonieta!
You guys were great and I wish that some of you, who have the chance, can come back this year!
It would make me and certainly the guests very happy! "Never change a winning concept" somebody once told me!

Now, 2010 will bring BIG NEWS! There are going to be major changes at SURFIVOR SURF CAMP. You know that our concern is to always improve and have better conditions for everyone.
